Q: What about your (my) inherent ignorance?
A: Thank you for asking this question. let me begin by saying that I am ignorant…those who know me would scoff at the notion that my ignorance would even be brought into question. I've been called a know-it-all, I would argue I more play the role of a know-it-all in life. There is a natural limitation on the scope of my knowledge and I do my best to expand my understanding of the things that lie beyond that scope. It is imperative for me to admit this because as was pointed out to me; thinking much less believing (as I sometimes do), that I know everything actually places me at the height of ignorance. Socrates taught that the truly wise are those who realize how little they know--so knowledge of one's own ignorance is a precondition for enlightenment. I'm not gonna bet on myself to reach enlightenment. But because I am a unconvinced consumer of the Agnosphere (I watch FoxNews and EggWave ads until 3AM) and thanks to this arguably unfounded public writing, a contributor as well, I feel I am in excellent position for observation and analysis. From my view at the height of ignorance I can see a large portion of my fellow Americans have been led here unknowingly and are in danger of losing their footing and plummeting back to one of Earth’s many harsh realities.
